Arenal is one of Costa Rica’s main tourist centers, and it’s no wonder why. Besides its thermal baths, it is best known for the iconic, cone-shaped Arenal Volcano that towers over the landscape. The Springs Resort is not famous for inventing the idea of hotel rooms with volcano views, but for perfecting it. Each of the 74 rooms here offers a stunning view of the volcano, whether on the first or third floor. And if someone doesn’t like the dirt road leading here, there is always the option of the helicopter landing pad.

The hotel

The design of The Springs leaves many breathless – a multi-level, golden-hued main building with conical blue roofs, beautiful interior spaces, palm trees, and an abundance of thermal springs. One could call this the Taj Mahal of Costa Rica.

Built in 2008, the hotel is nestled deep in the forest on a hilltop, offering magnificent views of the Arenal Volcano and the surrounding valley.

Thermal bath

Nestled enchantingly in the rainforest, The Springs features 18 thermal pools with varying temperatures, welcoming guests for relaxation. From waterfalls to slides and tranquil forest pools, there are numerous baths available for leisure. The resort’s springs boast an ideal combination of minerals, offering excellent benefits for both body and soul.

The rooms

At The Springs Resort, rooms of various types and sizes are located in a total of 3 buildings, including one, two, and three-bedroom suites.

In addition, there are separate villas with private pools available for reservation, each accompanied by a golf cart for the duration of the stay.

A common feature across all room categories, suites, and villas is the stunning volcanic panorama, natural surroundings, cozy interiors, and comprehensive amenities ensuring comfort for all guests.

Spa

The luxury spa at The Springs Resort offers a full range of services including massages, facial treatments, body wraps, manicures, and pedicures in an exclusive and holistic environment. These services are provided by trained professionals using state-of-the-art technology.

Their spa menu features tropical botanical ingredients native to Costa Rica, as well as various therapeutic volcanic clays collected from the resort’s own property.

Gastronomy

In the restaurants found here, everyone will find a selection to suit their taste. At the Las Ventanas fine dining restaurant, not only is the menu stunning, but the view from the windows as well – the windows overlook a 300-meter-high waterfall. The Tres Cascadas restaurant offers fresh seafood, steak, and Latin cuisine. At Treetops Grill, “swimwear is not just allowed, but recommended.” For afternoon cocktails, the swim-up bar with views of the volcano is an excellent choice. The breakfast selection is plentiful: you can’t go wrong with the classic Costa Rican breakfast – scrambled eggs, fried sweet plantains, tortillas, sour cream, and gallo pinto (mixed beans and rice).
